The zeroth-tier implementation of blockchain network opens unlimited possibilities to create subnets in or around this network. A participating node in a network will have the capability to start their own network, which is tiered upon the nodes of existing network. However, there are core protocols required to be followed in order to ensure all subnets remain in sync with the genesis of ledger implementation.
Participating nodes are representatives of a subnet in the parent chain and fulfill the requirements of the parent chain in order to ensure the smooth functioning of the subnet. The participating nodes which keep the network tiered also ensure that the checkpoint data, as well as the Merkle root data of the deployed network is timely transferred to the parent chain thereby enabling the parent chain to prove consensus in the subnet.
